Get Creative With Decorations: Local Pumpkin Patches

If you can’t get enough pumpkin in your life, Weekleyville Pumpkin Farms is the perfect stop for you. You’ll be able to stock up on everything that screams autumn as well as corn shocks, indian corn, decorative straw bales, and many more fall decorations!

Bringing along your kids is a must when visiting Libby’s Pumpkin Patch, considering they have tons of kid-friendly activities as well as delicious homemade pumpkin ice cream that everyone will be dying to try. The kids can enjoy running through the corn maze, ride along the pumpkin patch in a hay ride, race along on speedy slides and participate in a corn bin crawl. Libby’s activity bands for children are only $5 and children under the age of 2 are free.

Appalachian Color in the Hills Festival | Glouster | October 8–9
Enjoy the cool, crisp days of fall this weekend in charming Glouster during the Appalachian Color in the Hills Fest. Kid-friendly activities include games, crafts and cookie and pumpkin decorating. Of course, it wouldn’t be a fall festival without a plethora of food carts and free entertainment throughout the weekend.
Fall Wine Express | Hocking Valley Scenic Railway | October 14
Help yourself to wine and cheese as well as other treats as you take a journey to relive a little railway history. Ride in coach or first class with a special complimentary Stuart’s Opera House wine glass included with all first class ticket purchases. The ride will take approximately an hour and a half. Tickets can be picked up at the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway depot. You must be 21 or over to consume alcohol, so be sure to remember your photo ID with birthdate. The train will leave the depot promptly at 7 p.m.
Halloween Game Night | Athens Community Center | October 27
For fun the whole family can enjoy, make your way over to the Athens Community Center for their annual Halloween Game Night. There, you will find crafts, treats, music, prizes, and much more to keep everyone entertained and guarantee a fun night out.

Athens Block Party | Court Street | October 29
Halloween is here, which can only mean one thing: the biggest block party Ohio has to offer. Blocking off car’s access to Court Street allows Athens to accommodate thousands of partiers, eager to dance the night away. Keep an out for the most creative costumes for the Costume Contest judging. Two stages on each end of Court Street will fill the area with great tunes. You don’t want to miss out on this annual event: the best Halloween party of the year!
