We’d like to invite you along our tasty food journey; welcome to Diner Day Wednesdays! Each Wednesday, for the foreseeable future, the entire staff of the Athens County Visitors Bureau will be dining around the county at local diners. And sharing the deliciousness with YOU!
This week, we headed to Nelsonville to dine at Tammy’s Country Kitchen. Tammy’s is known for its “down home” atmosphere, friendly charm, and home style cooking. The kind of place where everyone knows everyone and smiles are aplenty.
First things first. Let’s talk desserts. We had the pleasure of meeting Tammy and her mother, Myrna, who is the baker of the delicious desserts. We didn’t actually have dessert first… but we did get a glimpse of the pies & cakes before we dined. Planning ahead is crucial!
Pies included apple, pecan, peanut butter and banana split. Available cakes were yellow with chocolate icing, triple chocolate and german chocolate. We tried most of them. All were a-a-amazing!
In addition to all the desserts, our crew dined on a variety of dishes.
Sandwiches stacked high, breakfast omelets and meat & potato dinners.
