From Columbus: (about an hour and a half) Take I-70 East to Route 33 East. Stay on Route 33 at Lancaster to bypass the city. Nelsonville will be your first pass through Athens County. Ohio University and Athens are just 15 minutes from Nelsonville. Continue on 33 East and look for the East State Street exit. To get to Ohio University's campus, continue on 33 East and exit at SR 682. Take a right off the ramp and you'll be in the heart of campus. From Cincinnati: (three hours) Take SR 32 East from Cincinnati straight through to Athens County. From Parkersburg WV: (about 45 minutes) Take 50 West to Belpre, then follow the signs to Athens.
