Bird Walk at Wildcat Hollow

Date(s) - April 25, 2015
7:00 am - 9:00 am

Come out this spring and discover Southeast Ohio’s local bird life on a guided walk at the Wayne National Forest! The walk will take place on the Wildcat Hollow trail and will start promptly at 7 am. Meet at the parking lot to Wildcat Hollow, on County Road 58 north of Burr Oak Lake.

Weather that would cancel would be hard rain or lightning/thunder. Please be aware that turkey hunting could occur –  wear brightly colored clothes. In the event turkey hunting prevents us from entering the forest too far, there is plenty of good birding around the trail head area, roads, and alternate locations around Burr Oak Lake.  Guide: Glen Crippen, joined by Joe Brehm of Rural Action.

This event is part of a series of bird walks offered by the Athens Area Birders. With experienced guides, you’ll explore special areas and habitats to find and learn about this region’s avian inhabitants.

Free but limited to 15 participants. Bring your binoculars or borrow from us (provided by Rural Action). For questions and to register, email with the subject “Bird Walk.” A confirmation will be sent back to you.
