It’s time for the 42nd Annual Elmo Golf Tournament! Members of the Athens Building Industries Association will organize and coordinate the tournament. This year’s recipients will be Big Brothers Big Sisters of Athens, providing mentoring support for area youth; the Athens County Child Advocacy Center, whose mission is to reduce trauma and promote healing for children who have experienced sexual abuse; and Athens CASA/GAL, who utilizes volunteers to provide advocacy for children who experience abuse or neglect. Please help us to raise more support than ever for these vital programs within our community.

Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $130,000 for local children’s charities. This year, organizers aim to raise $20,000, by having multiple sponsor levels ranging from $100 to $500. Gifts that you would like to contribute are appreciated and will be awarded to golfers. Even if you are unable to attend, please consider contributing.

We will play a scramble format. Each foursome should have a total handicap of no less than forty with only one golfer below a ten. The entry fee is $70, which includes the green fees and a cart. Refreshments will be available on the golf course and picnic area. Lunch will be served after completion of play. We are planning to celebrate this 42nd tournament with more awards, gifts, and fun, so I look forward to seeing everyone there.

In My Memory,

Elmo Scott
