10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Earth Stories is a collection of twenty-four extraordinary works by Studio Art Quilt Associates’ studio artists in celebration of SAQA’s 25th anniversary.

Each artist was asked to select a project they believe in and create a work of art embodying the positive, non-political goals of the project. Some of the artworks celebrate the quiet beauty of nature while others look at how human influences and technology are shaping the earth’s future.

Juror Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi of Ohio. selected the quilts and is an artist, author, historian, and curator. Dr. Mazloomi is acknowledged as one of the most influential quilt historians in the United States. She states “I looked for work that would emotionally draw me in … pieces with the distinctive voice of the artist coming through which would be memorable and move my spirit.

Half of the quilts are on view from April 24 till September 6, 2015

The other twelve quilts will be added on July 19.

All 24 quilts will then remain on view till September 6, 2015.
