Celebrate a True Athens Original: The King Midget

Visit the place where the King Midget was developed, assembled and sold: Athens, Ohio! The annual King Midget Jamboree commemorates this Ohio-made micro car and returns to Athens for the 70th anniversary of the founding of Midget Motors.

The Jamboree will feature many classic King Midget events including the High Street Challenge, a cruise-in on Athens’ famous brick-lined Court Street (the main drag in town), a driving tour of historic Nelsonville and the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, and many other events to be announced.

While in town, visit the King Midget Exhibit at the Market on State, which features the entire collection of King Midget vehicles and was topped off this year with the 1969 Commuter donated by the IKMMC. Don’t miss the grand opening of the official King Midget archives with its permanent home in Ohio University’s Alden Library’s Special Collections.
