Bird Walks around Athens
Athens Area Birders invite you to come out this Spring and discover our wild local bird life! With experienced guides and a pair of (rental) binoculars, we explore special areas and habitats to find and learn about their avian inhabitants.
**The walks are limited to 15 participants. For questions and to register, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Bird Walk”; a confirmation will be sent back to you.**
Sunday, 22 March 2015. Nightfall at The Ridges. We meet at 7:30 pm at the parking lot below the Compost Facility, to the right off Dairy Lane/Blackburn Road, 500 yards past Dairy Barn. We will walk up to Radar Hill (20 min) and quietly await the American Woodcocks to start their “peent” calls and aerial displays after sunset. Return by 9:00 pm.
