NUIT BLANCHE ATHENS – CREATING A WHOLE NEW MEANING
FOR PAINTING THE TOWN!

Nuit Blanche Athens was established and co-directed by Zelma Badu-Younge and Paschal Yao Younge, in conjunction with Ohio University Division of Dance, School of Music, and Azaguno Inc., a vibrant Multi-ethnic performance ensemble. Nuit Blanche seeks to energize the fall season in Athens and consequently consolidate the town’s position as a cultural, and festive jewel in southeast Ohio. Our hope is to make this second festival a spotlight on Ohio University and Athens community artists and their varied forms of innovation and imagination and engage people of all ages in their own personal creative experiences. The festival will be from 3:05 pm on October 4 to 3:05am, October 5, 2014.

Come join us for Pre-Nuit Children’s Festival from 3:05 to 5:03PM for fall fantasy arts, crafts and performances! We will be offering free activities for children of all ages including fall face painting, creative crafts and puppet making! Enjoy this enchanted afternoon of arts with guest music group Virginia Arts Festival – Rhythm Project!!

The festival becomes a place where our community can explore in a positive and safe way the “magic and the mysteries of the night” through the arts.

Nuit Blanche Athens is poised to be a very important international-caliber festival, with possibilities for diversified programs by combining performing arts, and free outdoor activities. It will be a massive cultural event, offering citizens and hopefully tourists a multitude of activities, most of them free.

For one magical and sleepless night, experience Athens transformed by ARTISTS. All you need to bring is your imagination!  The theme…. Re-imagining Athens through the Arts.
