THE UNITED STATES NAVY BAND TO PERFORM IN ATHENS APRIL 6, 2017

Dear Ohio University Community:
Please accept this message as an invitation to attend an exciting event sponsored by the Ohio University School of Music as part of the year-long 100th Anniversary Celebration.

The United States Navy Band from Washington, D.C. will present a free concert at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 7:30 PM.

Under the baton of Capt. Kenneth Collins, the band will present a variety of popular and classical favorites. This special performance by the Navy’s premier musical organization is the final performance of the Navy Band’s national tour. The band performs frequently at the White House and the U.S. Capitol Building, and has participated in 21 presidential inaugurals.

Members of several local high school bands will join the Navy Band on stage to perform John Philip Sousa’s Washington Post March.

The concert is free, but tickets are required. Tickets are available now at the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium Box Office (East Union Street Entrance) and may be picked up in person or reserved by calling (740) 593-1780. Business hours are Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 5 PM and one hour prior to the event.

Any unclaimed seats will be available to non-ticket holders just prior to concert time.
