The Wistendahl Garden is named after Warren and Jean Wistendahl, two very important botanists in Athens, Ohio. Their love and dedication for plants is evident in the beautiful garden which include trees, shrubs, vines, grasses, and wildflowers that are all native to the area. The garden houses only native plants and stresses the importance of planting plants that are only native to it’s surrounding area.
The garden is maintained by many Athens Masters Gardeners, the Athens Garden Club, and other volunteers, who work hard to maintain its beauty for the whole community to appreciate.
