This peaceful wooded setting is bordered by Margaret’s Creek which was named after Margaret Hanning Snowden. She was 22 in 1796 when she became the first settler to step upon its banks. It is a special home away from home.

This picturesque retreat provides plenty of opportunity to relax in a comfortable natural environment. Connect with nature through the abundant plant and animal life here. You’ll find useful herbs and colorful flowers on site as well as diverse bird species and small critters. Enjoy the view from the deck or sit by the stream. There is a gas grill and several fire circles.

This setting provides a quiet escape for contemplation or a comfortable gathering spot for friends and family to enjoy each other’s company and have some good old fashioned fun.

It is located just minutes away from Athens and Ohio University. There you will find a stimulating local culture of lectures, music, fine dining, breweries, theater, and one of the best farmer’s markets in Ohio with local foods.

The house provides all the amenities of home and is on ground level with convenient parking. The kitchen is shared with the host unless a privacy agreement is requested for special events or reunions. It is stocked with coffee pot, blender, toaster, micro-wave, pans and dishes as well as coffee, tea, and spices with space for guests to store their own groceries and refrigerated items.
