Class will be hosted at Federal Valley Resource Center in Stewart\, Ohio. \nThe students will learn about hand forging techniques such as bending\, twisting and drawing out steel and the operation of a propane forge. \nRegistration is required as workshop space is limited to ensure high quality instruction. This workshop is offered on the sliding scale of $75-$300\, due upon registration via the link below. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds and folks may request scholarships by emailing livingtraditionsathens@gmail.com \nCoal Township Forge is a one-man blacksmith shop run by Mike Hoops from New Straitsville\, Ohio. Mike has been Blacksmithing for 11 years and learned from Brian Brazeal. He specializes in crafting hand-forged tools and custom items\, while also sharing his passion by teaching others the art of blacksmithing.

Following a brief intermission\, Dennis will accompany the 1914 silent film\, The Avenging Conscience\, starring Henry B. Walthall and Blanche Sweet\, and directed by D.W. Griffith. \nDoors will open at 5:15\, and dinner will be served at 5:30. The performance will begin at 6:00. Purple Chopstix is once again providing the meal for the event. Beer\, wine\, and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. \nWe are looking forward to welcoming Dennis and the performers from Actors’ Moveable Theater back for this event!

Children ages12 and under may participate for free. \nThis year’s race is being organized by the Athens Athletics Club (AAC)\, a 501(c)3 Athens-based nonprofit organization that supports the development of Athens Bulldogs cross country and track & field athletes.
