Over 130 years ago, The Depot was the site of lots of hustling and bustling, whistling hellos and steamy goodbyes. This original 1890 train depot started its journey in Millersport, Ohio and made a stop in Carroll for a decade before making its way to its final destination, Hideaway on the Hocking. With much of the authentic wood walls, floors and sliding doors still in place, she offers a glimpse into the past. You can enjoy your morning coffee or breakfast in bed, passed through the original ticket window, while its own ensuite bath hints to its former life with the caboose-red vanity wall. This crimson vibe continues in the kitchen where you can enjoy meals in the custom dining nook, built within the ticket window cubby. You’ll find an antique train bench in the old luggage, now living, room, with exposed ceiling and historic doors. Another bath with a vintage, industrial flair is just outside the second cozy bedroom, which has its own access to the 300 square foot covered porch where you can dine, incline or simply unwind. Oh, did we mention the vintage water tower that watches over The Depot and your very own wildflower garden in season? History and comfort combine for a truly unique experience. All aboard!
