The Little Yellow Caboose, our ray of sunshine, can’t help but put a smile on your face. The only wooden train in our collection, her vibrant coat accentuates her petite stature. Dating back to 1928, at nearly a century old, this C&O caboose carries her age well. Thoughtfully designed, this cozy retreat for two adults and a small toddler will surprise you. The granite bar, with a duo of rustic industrial reclaimed stools, sets alongside the kitchenette and offers a panoramic view of the fields below, that for a few precious summer weeks, are filled with sunflowers, while the natural maple shelf under the TV converts into a child’s private dining table. A custom sofa with toddler mattress provides the perfect destination for a good night’s slumber for the littlest railway fans, and a cozy queen bed with built-in storage completes the separate sleeping quarters.
The biggest surprise INSIDE this tiny-home space? The cupola of this vintage train has been converted into a bathroom. With high ceilings and windows, you’ll quickly forget you are in a caboose. The biggest surprise (literally) OUTSIDE this space? The full length, 300 square foot covered porch with three comfy rocking chairs … one of them child-sized … and a dining table provide even more comfy living space. Off the porch, you’ll find a Weber grill and fire-pit area with Adirondack seating. The coolest surprise? Your own two-person wooden rope swing hanging from a 100-year-old maple tree. All aboard!
